Rebecca Melia was devastated when she lost her mother to cancer in February, but now she has a reason to believe that her mom is still watching over her.
As Mummypages reports, Rebecca had been looking at pictures of her mother, Sharon, just before her ultrasound appointment.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Sharon had been there for the scan of every one of her fourteen grandchildren, but had died before Rebecca had the chance to tell her mom she was pregnant.
Heartbroken not to have her mom there for the appointment, Rebecca went to the hospital and waited for the results. A long delay had Rebecca worried that the doctors had seem something on the scan, but then a nurse showed up with the picture that would make Rebecca’s day. Rebecca explained to Echo:
“Not even thinking what was to come, the lady gave me the picture and she said, ‘I think you might like this one,’ with a smile on her face. And the nurse did know my mum had passed away.”
While Rebecca was talking to her mother about the ultrasound picture, she saw her mother’s face in the upper corner of the image.
“I couldn’t believe it,” says Rebecca. “I was shocked, happy and overwhelmed all at the same time. My mum’s face, which I longed to see, was there as clear as day on my scan.”
A strange, ghostly shadow near the baby’s calf bears a striking likeness to Sharon’s face. For Rebecca, it was a wonderful reminder that the mother she missed so much was still there for her.
